Traveling to Chignik Bay from the lower forty-eight is achieved by first flying to Anchorage. There are any number of carriers to choose from, Alaska, Continental, United, and others.

WARNING! ALL RESERVATIONS NEED TO BE MADE WELL IN ADVANCE. Summer flights to and within Alaska are heavily booked. Guests should contact their airlines or check their websites as early as possible to assure flights that correspond to their "Alaska Adventures" reservation dates.

Welcome to Chignik Bay International Airport
To fly on to Chignik you must first fly with either Peninsula Air or Alaska Airlines on to King Salmon, they are the only carriers for that portion of your trip. The flight to King Salmon takes about one hour.
On to Chignik Bay is serviced only by Peninsula Airways at this time. The last segment of the journey to Chignik takes about 90 minutes on Penn Air's 9 passenger Caravan planes. It is a prime opportunity to see the country and look for bears, caribou, and moose on the flight. There is often a wait in King Salmon to fly on out to Chignik, there are however restaurants and a very nice tourist center there if you need to pass some time. Penn Air is our connection to the rest of the world and they have outstanding pilots, experienced in flights all around Alaska and they have an outstanding safety record.

Although Chignik Bay is perched on the outskirts of the world, we are fortunate to have excellent, safe, air transport to the Village.
