The Kings arrive in the Chignik River the first week of July and run for about six weeks. The King run averages four to six thousand fish a year, and they enter daily on the tide. We intercept the bright, fresh fish in the lower holes and then move up above to the holding water where they stack up. These chrome bullets often have sea lice on their tales and many of our battles with them drag us all the way down to the saltwater. These fish provide reliable, furious action and many hookups can be expected daily. Although the daily personal possession limit is two fish per day, in addition, we practice "catch and release" so that everyone has numerous and great fishing experiences.
